Agra West Vidhan Sabha constituency was a legislative assembly of Uttar Pradesh but it ceased to exist after 2012 after the Delimitation Commission. The region has now merged with other constituencies but the area is extremely popular and is considered to be one of the prime locations for real estate development in the state. It is difficult to find another city in India where historical monuments jostle with each other to find a footing. The city is of course, especially known to world over for the Taj Mahal and all the other monuments in the city also mostly belong to the Mughal era. The city is also one of the most important in terms of political importance, second only to Delhi in North India and it also happens to be one of the most populated in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Various measures have been taken by the government to ensure the well being of the tourists who visit the city in large numbers every year. The Sadar Bazar market in Agra is a very well known one and even today the craftsmen here are skilled with working with marble inlays, which adorns the walls and floors of almost all the monuments in the city.
