The Bangalore real estate market and overall infrastructure sectors have received a major boost with the announcement of the 5-lane road that will connect the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) and Trumpet Flyover. Three lanes will be added by the BIAL (Bangalore International Airport Limited) within a year from now and two of these will be interfacing the traveller terminal while three will be going alongside the payload terminal. This move will boost connectivity hugely and areas near the airport or Trumpet flyover will see the maximum gains.
As per reports, there will be a 5-lane link road for better connectivity and an elevated expressway connecting to the upcoming Terminal 2 along with the proposed metro railway station. The Terminal is currently being developed by BIAL in two phases. The first phase will cover 25 million travellers annually while the second phase will have coverage for 20 million people. This should be finished by the year 2022 as per reports. With the two terminals, the airport will be able to cater to 65 million travellers.
Development in freight took place to the tune of 117% this year as compared to the year-ago period. A committed truck terminal will likewise come up on a plot in the air terminal premises. The terminal will have space for 250 to 300 trucks as per reports. These new infrastructural developments and connectivity improvements are sure to boost the Bangalore real estate sector as opined by experts, particularly in peripheral areas near the airport. There are already several premium residential realty projects coming up in Bangalore. Some of them include Aryan Golden Arena at Sarjapur, Sowparnika Indraprastha at Whitefield and Sobha Dream Acres at Varthur to name a few.
