At the opening ceremony of this year’s East Asia Summit, Hun Sen called on every country to join in unity for peace and cooperation amidst global tensions 2022. This summit included global economic powers like Russia, USA and China.
Hun Sen, on global tensions spoke that it is requested from every nation to embrace the spirit of togetherness. He didn’t point to any particular country. But, he made these remarks regarding global tension news amid the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, which has affected supply chains worldwide. The war between these countries has affected food and energy prices and other necessary items outside of Europe.
Hun Sen commented on global tensions, given growing aspirations in Beijing and upsurging regional tensions between two superpowers, the USA and China.

Hun Sen, during ASEAN Summit Cambodia, requested each nation to join hands together in the spirit of unity. He requested to address worldwide strategic and existential crises with mutual respect, pragmatism and multilateralism.
The countries included in the 10-member ASEAN bloc includes Cambodia, Indonesia, Brunei, Malaysia, Laos, Vietnam, The Philippines, Thailand and Singapore.
In conclusion, Hun Sen said he had made this call to maintain what each nation has worked for UNITY AND PEACE. But, amidst these global tensions in 2022, human lives and sustainable development have already been affected a lot. Now is the high-time to come together again and stand against anything worse.
There were many high-ranking personnels who attended the Summit, like Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang and others. Li came forward and asked the ASEAN economies to stay committed to pushing for stability, development, peace and prosperity in the region and beyond to improve everyone’s well-being.
