Hydari’s Hibernation
A perfect manifestation of Aditi’s notions is a reflection of her residency in Mumbai. Looking for harmony in the Bombay chaos, she describes her home as something beautiful and soothing. She has imbibed inspiration from her childhood home in Hyderabad through textures and spaces.

The entire aesthetic is much like Hydari, a puff of traditional breeze that balances the house’s narrative. As you enter, the intimacy breathes in, with low-height ceilings, elevated spaces, functional corners, and the Bohemian colour palette.
Inner Harmony: The Living Room

The living room flirts with an intriguing bohemian colour palette with warm brown, red, and tan tones. The space welcomes a stubby beige sofa and patterned cushions resting across two bright floral chairs. It is one of her favourite ‘staying-in’ spots. All the lounging furniture points towards a centre table that lies at the core of the room. An elaboratively designed wooden shelf can be seen enveloping paraphernalia, adding more character to the room.
Hydari has expressed her love for art and the classics in many interviews. She quotes art as ‘playful and classic’ and collects this essence throughout her home.
The Indian artwork in her living room shows this love. It adds character through reflective hues and a colour pop contrast, adding more focus to the wall.
The classic Persian rug in burgundy takes us back to the traditional homes of India, lying candidly at the centre of the room. The white spherical lighting accents conclude the space, adding the essence of a bohemian romance.
The room is installed with elaborate floor-to-ceiling windows, enveloped with sheer curtains, visually balancing the room’s entire colour palette. What space could be a better one for a good read?
Tip: Adding rugs, throws, and cushions can also help alleviate intimacy in a space. Make sure the colour palette is visually balanced.

The entire frame of the living room has been completed with chic lighting accents and some of her collective art, adding more character to the room.
Planned along the spatial demarcation of the living room, the dining area snugs within the living space and has been designed, raised on an elevation. The elevation not only adds intimacy to the entire frame but also invites an interesting interior surface to be witnessed within the house.
Tip: Using platforms or elevations within an interior space induces a sense of intimacy and makes the entire zone more personal. It’s incredible how a level can drive the essence of a space!
Dining Area: Minimalistic Haven
Among her many minimalist masterpieces is her dining area. The room’s backdrop is a white canvas adorned with some of her chosen art. While not doing much to the space, Aditi has managed to capture the core aesthetic of the room. The space stands on wooden flooring, and a dining-table set in the centre.
The room is embraced by an elaborate transparent sliding door, leading to an open space. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that it is a comprehensive window when it’s not the usual sliding door.
Tip: A transparent or glass sliding door is a smart choice to make. This would help with light ventilation and add positivity to the space.
The Pristine Play of the Bedroom
The royalty that Aditi is, her bedroom is an extension of her persona. It is decked up in a vintage aesthetic. While she adorns artwork, however, no art can be seen here, as she calls this space something that should speak and must envelop peace and calm. The bedroom has a summery window, tucked in with cotton drapes.

A comprehensive bed lies in the centre of the room, isolated within a wooden frame, taking us back to the vintage era of English beds. The bedding features a floral block printed in red and green that evokes the spring-summer aesthetic.
Tip: Using minimal schemes in bedroom spaces is a functional trend. Subtle block prints, in contrast, would be an interesting character to add to your interior space. Make sure you don’t make the space visually chaotic by using abundant prints.
A two-tier wooden console can also be spotted with ample storage for Hydari to stack her books in. A television set can be seen placed next to it. Hydari likes to retreat to this intimate corner of the bedroom to read a book or spend time alone.
The Zen Balcony
Taking the vintage charm of the house to the balcony, Hydari associates this space with her yoga and everything serene. The floor embraces warm patterns as a backdrop to the jute-detailed stool. The potted plants and greenery surrounding the balcony space adds a serene feeling.

If there were to be a place that reminded us of our homes when looking at every nook and corner, it would be Aditi Hydari’s! With the blending of chicness, conventional patterns across the rooms are reminiscent of our comfort spaces. Using low-height ceilings and elevations in the interiors induces a sense of intimacy to snuggle in. With art embracing many spaces of the house, I’m definitely noting down some bullets for an interior upgrade!

Hydari stunned the red carpet in her simple and elegant white Sabyasachi saree. The six yards of fabric wrapped around Hydari was a self-embroidered masterpiece with adornments. Besides her much-appreciated Saree look for Sabyasachi, she also walked for Atsu, Patty Ang, and Avaro Figlio.

Recently, Aditi Rao Hydari was seen inaugurating the elegant lobby of Dosti Eastern Bay, a superlative residential property, on June 4th, 2022. While she was aesthetically savoured, her OOTD was one of the event’s highlights. Aditi took social media by storm in her hand-loomed red chanderi saree from Gaurang (a brand promoting primordial patterns worldwide). The red fabric was circumferenced with a golden woven border, and zari vignettes of flora and fauna designs.
