Agra Inner Ring Road
The Agra Development Authority initiated the Agra Inner Ring Road that will connect to the Agra-Noida Yamuna Expressway. The highway is 23 kilometres in length. The main objective of constructing the road is to allow smooth traffic movement to the Taj Mahal.
The Inner Ring Road development will take place in three phases and will connect the Agra-Noida Yamuna Expressway to the Gwalior Highway. The first phase of the Inner Ring Road, 11 kilometres in length, is complete. This allows direct connectivity from the Yamuna Expressway to Fatehabad Road, making it convenient for tourists visiting the Taj Mahal. Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav inaugurated the first phase of the Inner Ring Road. The second phase of the Inner Ring Road is now under construction and work is in progress.
The third phase of the construction is not yet prepared. The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) will be taking over the construction of the Inner Ring Road in the third phase. The plan by the Agra Development Authority is to have 6 lanes on the highway that can expand to 8 lanes for smooth traffic flow.
