Jharkhand State is known for its waterfalls and majestic and elegant temples. The government of Jharkhand has spotted the opportunity to tap into this and construct skywalks across some of the most magnificent waterfalls in the state. Five locations have been selected as part of a tourism boost across the state.
In a move to boost tourism, the Jharkhand government and the tourism board came up with the idea to construct skywalks in specific scenic spots across the state. The government identified five places that could potentially bring in more footfall of tourists to capture the alluring sceneries of the beautiful state of Jharkhand. The spots that are selected for the modifications include Patratu in Ramgarh, Netarhat in Latehar, and three spots in Ranchi – Hundru, Jonha and Dassam falls. The decisions made by the authorities were well calculated as an assessment of the practicality of the projects were carried out. The results were immediately approved by the authorities and the implementation should be kick-started by the end of this year.
The government has released requirements for agencies with expertise in construction and infrastructure to overlook the projects’ planning, execution, and delivery. The ultimate goal is to give a breathtaking experience to visitors and eventually to take up Jharkhand tourism to new heights.
Hundru
A picture-perfect destination for travellers who love to experience a good lush and rocky waterfall scenery while moving across the state. Hundru is the 34-longest waterfall in India and already attracts many tourists throughout the year. With the addition of a glass-constructed skywalk, authorities believe the location will create a buzz among enthusiastic sightseers. With the cascading flow of the Subarnarekha River pouring down the alluring rock formations, explores will have an eyeful to embrace.
Jonha
Jonha is a location 45 km away from the city of Ranchi on the route of the Ranchi-Purulia Highway. Not only the place has a lofty waterfall, but it also is home to the majestic Gautamadhara Buddha Temple. With a skywalk in place, the breathtaking view of the Jonha waterfalls will grab every tourist’s attention.

Dassam
The Ranchi district homes another natural cascade near the Taimara village. It is said that the name earlier was Dasong which meant water pouring like a song. The authorities recognised its poetic beauty, and the place became a prospect to attract tourist footfall. The skywalk installation will enhance the viewer’s experience from a heightened perspective.
Patratu
Patratu is located in Ramgarh, Jharkhand, and is an excellent prospect for a whole-day visit. There is a valley and a lake that tourists can explore, along with the waterfall attraction. Authorities are planning to construct a glass skywalk that can amplify the viewer’s experience of the magnificent view and tranquillity of the locality.
Netarhat
The beautiful town of Netarhat is considered a hill station and an excellent place to capture some heartwarming views of the mountains, thick and luscious forest, and parts of the Chhota Nagpur plateau. The government saw the potential of this locality and immediately decided to intensify the tourist experience by constructing a skywalk, and nobody is complaining.
With all these prospects, the Jharkhand government is interested in starting off a new buzz in the country in the tourism sector. This could only be a start as Jharkhand’s massive tourism potential is waiting to be ethically exploited.
