Have You Heard about Bangalore’s QR Train Ticketing through WhatsApp?

QR Train Ticketing Service on Whatsapp

Bangalore commuters may now avoid the inconvenience of waiting in lengthy lines by purchasing single-journey Bangalore metro tickets straight via the Namma Metro app or WhatsApp. The chatbot service will be available on November 1st, according to the BMRCL (Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited). It’s the world’s first transit agency to provide end-to-end QR ticketing through WhatsApp. Anjum Parwez, the Managing Director of the BMRCL, said:

“To provide more comfort in travel, we are launching the Namma Metro mobile app and WhatsApp-based QR ticket systems. Passengers are already using the app to plan their trips, and the QR ticket option will be available from November 1st. We have tied up with WhatsApp to provide a QR ticket purchase option. There is no additional charge for purchasing tickets on these two platforms.”

Here’s How to Buy Metro Tickets in Bangalore through WhatsApp?

It is the world’s first metro service to provide an end-to-end ticketing system through WhatsApp, which means Namma Metro passengers will no longer need to carry tokens or smart cards while travelling. Users who purchase Bangalore metro tickets using the chatbot get a 5% discount off the basic Bangalore metro ticket price. Here’s how to use the newly announced WhatsApp chatbot-based QR code ticketing system to order tickets and recharge your cards.

The first step is to add BMRCL’s WhatsApp number, 8105556677, to your contact list. After that, open WhatsApp and search for the number you just saved in your contact list, then send a ‘Hi’ message. There are three choices: ‘QR Tickets,’ ‘Card Info and Recharge,’ and ‘More Options.’ Select the QR tickets option. If you want to purchase a Bangalore metro ticket, use the ‘Buy Ticket’ option. You may also check your previous travels or cancel your current ticket here.

When you choose ‘Buy Ticket,’ you have three options: ‘Share Location,’ ‘Type Station Name,’ and ‘Search From List.’ The ‘Share Location’ option is handy when looking for a metro station near you.

To proceed with the booking, insert the station name or search for the station from a list. When you’re finished, the chatbot will ask you where you want to travel. Users may input the target station name or choose it from the abovementioned Bangalore metro ticket price list.

After you’ve entered the source and destination stations, hit ‘Proceed,’ and you’ll be able to pay via WhatsApp Pay or online using UPI, credit or debit card, among other options. If you provide the wrong station name while ordering a ticket, the Namma Metro WhatsApp chatbot may cancel and refund the cost.

Start using the new feature, Bangalore metro online ticket booking through WhatsApp, it will make your commute easier and hassle-free.
