Bangalore is among the top 20 cities chosen in Phase 1 of SMART CITY MISSION under the flagship of PM MODI. The project is introduced to make the city conditions more liveable and sustainable.
The project is taken up by a Bangalore government firm, namely BBMP (Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike) and BenSCL(Bengaluru Smart City Limited). A few of the projects are also taken up by Cubbon Park along with these two. BenSCL is among the first companies to provide smart services to the citizens in collaboration with BBMP.
The broader vision of this Smart City project is to overcome the problem of overcrowding, traffic jams, water-logging, less street lighting, etc. So, the company has designed the projects focussing keenly on these key areas. This in turn, is going to make Bengaluru a Smart yet easily accessible city for everyone.
Bangalore Smart City Objectives
The main objectives of a Smart City is to make the city better in terms of mobility, economy and infrastructure. But, a few common objectives are given below:-
