Rs 700 Million Allocated for Rayagada Railway Division: Union Railway Minister
Union Minister for Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw, has announced the allocation of Rs 700 million for the establishment of the Rayagada railway division. The minister made this statement during a media interaction in New Delhi. He revealed that the design plan for the railway division is in its final stages, and construction work will commence shortly after the tenders are finalized.

Bifurcation of Waltair Division to Create South Coast Railway Zone
In 2019, the Centre approved the bifurcation of the Waltair division of East Coast Railway (ECoR) to establish the new South Coast Railway (SCoR) zone. The newly formed railway zone comprises the Guntakal, Guntur, and Vijayawada divisions. Additionally, the Waltair division was divided into two parts: one merged with the Vijayawada division, while the other transformed into the Rayagada division with its headquarters in Rayagada under ECoR.

Nabarangpur MP, Balabhadra Majhi, expressed his gratitude to the railway minister for addressing the long-standing demand for the Rayagada railway division. He expressed hope that construction work would commence promptly as soon as the necessary formalities for the establishment of the new division are completed.
