The Noida Extension Flat Owners Welfare Association is the major body, highlighting the fears and issues of homebuyers in Noida Extension. On the 30th of August, 2017, the body has demanded that the registration for new apartments in the area should be provided as per the circle rates prevalent in the year 2010 when these apartments were first booked and the registration should also be on the basis of the carpet areas. These demands were given to the visiting committee of officers who have been tasked with resolving the issues of buyers in Noida through the state Government. The high level committee that has been appointed by the State Government, met builders and buyers in Noida and Greater Noida and the meeting was held at the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority from 3.30 PM onwards. The meeting was attended by the state minister (independent charge) of cane development and sugar mills, Suresh Rana, urban housing minister Suresh Khanna, Industries minister Satish Mahana and Pankaj Singh, the local MLA. According to the president of the homeowners’ association, Abhishek Kumar, the registration should be carried out based on circle rates of the year 2010 since delayed construction is not the responsibility of those who booked their apartments and the circle rates have also gone up sizably over the years. The association has also demanded an explanation with regard to the dilution of RERA in the state. He added that the committee heard the matter patiently. The interaction took place at the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority’s new administrative building. More than 400 buyers attended this meeting and they have been assured of speedy solutions after the interaction to be held on the 31st of August, 2017.
