Transforming Delhi, the National Capital, into a world-class city is now the mission of the DDA (Delhi Development Authority). The authority has already fixed its expenses for FY2018-19 at more than Rs. 8, 000 crore for taking care of multiple projects including the Yamuna Rejuvenation project. The budget and revised fiscal estimates for FY2017-18 has already been shown to the Authority, which is the highest body for decision making in the DDA.

Rs. 8, 032 crore has been kept as the budget for FY2018-19 which is more than the revised budget estimate of FY2017-18 by a whopping 67%. The authority is planning to allocate Rs. 3, 633 for development of shops and houses and Rs. 765 crore has been earmarked for land acquisition and enhanced compensation payments. Rs. 2, 348 crore has been kept aside for land development while Rs. 1, 286 crore has been allotted for miscellaneous and establishment related expenses.

Proposals have been raised for development of vacant zones present in Rohini, Dwarka and Narela which are 200, 259 and 218 hectares respectively. This may give a major boost to the real estate markets in these areas. 15 new schemes for development and 14 DDA housing-linked development projects will also be introduced while Narela will get a rail-overbridge as well. There will be 5 socio-cultural centres built at Dwarka, Rohini, Netaji Subhash Place, CBD Shahdara and Mayur Place.

The DDA will be aiming to complete restoration and rejuvenation processes for the River Yamuna along with the upgradation of the Vasant Udyan which is located at Vasant Kunj. Funds will also be earmarked for developing the land of 62 acres or 25 hectares which surrounds Vasant Kunj’s Sultangarhi Tomb Conservation Complex. There are three pilot projects which are already been executed at Jailorwala Bagh, Kalkaji and Kathputli Colony.

The CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) will be getting 794 LIG/1 bedroom apartments out of which 574 are located in Rohini’s Sector 34 and 220 are located in Siraspur. FAR enhancement has also been agreed upon. The entire procedure has been made simpler and more user friendly by the DDA. Self-declaration undertakings will now get acceptance in place of attestation done by metropolitan magistrate/notary public on the non-judicial stamp paper of Rs. 10.
