The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) Sub-Committee undertook a detailed review of air quality data and weather forecasts provided by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) and the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM). After analyzing the data and considering the forecast, the Sub-Committee has decided to continue closely monitoring the air quality situation for another day. Under Stage 1 of the GRAP, they enforce strict orders regarding the usage of outdated diesel and petrol vehicles to limit emissions. Additionally, a complete ban on the usage of coal and firewood in eateries and hotels is implemented when the AQI exceeds 200.
