Mark the Calendar With Exceptional Events Taking Place in 2023
We have brought the complete list of 2023 on a special occurrence that is related to the world of sports in the monthly division. So all the sports buffs, let’s check this out!
January 2023
The first month of the year January has its name from a protector gateway that was symbolised as the pathway of old endings and new beginnings by a Roman god. This clearly means the start will have a masterpiece of plans.
Near the second half of the month, from 13 January till the end of 29 January, FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup will be organised in India. This will be held in the eastern cities of Bhubaneswar and Rourkela in Odisha. Cumulatively, 16 teams will be participating in this tournament.
Simultaneously, from 14th January to 29th January, ICC under 19 Women’s T-20 World Cup has been organised with its inaugural edition. This event will be hosted by South Africa with 16 teams, including India.
The month will have its closure with the Tennis First Tournament from 16th to 29th January. For your information, the Australian Open will be hosted by Melbourne.
February
The month that has a major connection of love, invites football fans closer by offering the FIFA Club World Cup starting from the 1st to the 11th. This event will be held in Morocco. After this, cricket fans must go for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa. In this shortest cricket format, there will be a total of 10 teams participating from 10th February to 26 February, including Team India.
March
By the middle of the third month, 2023 will offer sports enthusiasts with All England Open Badminton. This function is going to be held in Birmingham, England. Apart from this, the inaugural edition of WIPL (Women’s Indian Premier League) will also be held. However, there is no information floated by the organisers’ side regarding the dates so far.
April
Like every year, IPL (Indian Premier League) will commence in 2023 with 10 participating teams. The tenure will be the same- April to June. Although, fans might have to wait for a confirmed date as it has not been announced yet. Just like this, golf sports will be highlighted again from April 6th to 9th with the Master Golf Tournament. This will be held in Georgia- UAS. Finally, the last event of April, starting from mid (1st April) will be the Snooker World Championship. This will be organised in Sheffield, England.
May
May is the month of vacation for all the scholars who might have a fun time watching French Open Tennis Matches. This will have Paris as the host country from 28th May till 11th of June 2023.
June
UEFA Champions League Football Finals are finalised to be held in the month of June. This will be in Istanbul, Turkey. Moreover, AFC Asian Cup 2023 Football matches will also start from June 16 to July 16. India will be one of the participants that will represent the nation in Qatar.
In fact, the ICC World Test Championships final will be played in London, England. However, no finalised dates have been floated yet by the International Cricket Council.
July
This month is for tennis and football obsession. The first week, Wimbledon Tennis Tournament will start from the 3rd to the 16th. In addition, FIFA women’s World Cup Football will also be played from July 20 to the 20th of August. There will be two nations hosting the event, which are New Zealand and Australia.
August
The autumn month from 19th to 27th will be engaged in bringing IAAF World Championships athletics to you. This is planned to be organised in Budapest, Hungary. Point to be noted that Neeraj Chopra- India’s Olympic javelin throw champion- will be eyeing a medal in this prestigious event.
After this, BWF World Championship Badminton will commence from 21st August to 27th August in Copenhagen, Denmark. In fact, US Open tennis is also planned to start from 28th August till 10th September in New York, US.
September
September will be all set with the Rugby World Cup starting from 8th October till 28th of the month. This will be held in France. Similarly, the postponed Asian Games event of 2022 will also be organised this time. It will be from September 23 to October 8th. Lastly, MotoGP will be organised in India for the first time with its Grand Prix of Bharat, The Buddh International Circuit. This will be in Greater Noida, UP.
October
This month will have major attention from cricket lovers with ICC World Cup 2023. This will be a historic one as the land of India will host the event after 50-over showpieces after exactly 12 years of wait. The country hosted the matches in 2011, the last time winning the title. Fans should know that there are no official dates announced yet.
November
With the arrival of winter, the real essence of watching football matches will start. We are saying this because the FIFA U-17 World Cup tournament will start. The dates are kept to be from 10th November to 2nd of December. Interestingly, Peru is the host place that will organise the grand event on their land.
December
Towards the end of the calendar, December will bring excitement with World Tour Finals Badminton. The mega event will start from 13th December to 17th December. The venue has not been finalised yet but will be disclosed soon in the coming days.
