Uparbeda is a tribal village based in the Mayurbhanj district of Odisha, where the NDA presidential nominee, Smt. Droupadi Murmur was born. With the announcement of the historical achievement, the people of Uparbeda held their breath to celebrate the victory soon after the results get declared. In this regard, Thursday, 28 July is marked for the ‘Vijay Diwas’, which means the day of victory.
In preparation for the special event, all the houses are decorated with flowers and lights, and the roads have been cleaned. Including this, the folk dance or the Santhali dance performances will also be a part of the grand celebration. And these are all because NDA Droupadi Murmur will be the first ever candidate to bag India’s president’s position in the whole tribal community.
Above this, even the farmers will take a break between their precious transplanting period of paddy seedlings; others with goat rearing and poultry will also join the occasion. It is estimated that 6,000 boasts of at least fifty folks engaged in paramilitary forces like BSF, CRPF and even defence will join the grand celebration.
Reaching out to ‘Didi’s beloved family, her nephew, Tularam’s wife shared the feeling of pride and belief in her with the media. She said,” I am unable to inform you how completely satisfied I’m. When ‘Didi’ grew to become governor of Jharkhand, then the whole village erupted in pleasure. But if she is elected President, it will likely be a different feeling for us.”
One of her relatives also disclosed that Uparbeda was the only nearby locality that received electricity after Droupadi Murmur was declared a presidential nominee. Since then, the villagers cannot resist making this day memorable for the tribal people.
Rairangpur, having a distance of 15 km from Uparbeda, is where Droupadi Murmur began her political career as a Councillor in 1997. Rairangpur’s merchants are all set to distribute sweets to almost 40,000 folks on such an auspicious occasion.
