Chennai is soon going to get its own first-ever floating restaurant. This is going to be an incomparable experience. The Muttukadu Boat House will soon be rolled out in the outskirt waters of Chennai with a double-decker as its speciality. The Tourism Department of Tamil Nadu has started the construction, and as per reports if everything goes as per deadline, the floating diner will be out in the next three months.
The dimension of the boat is suggested to be around 25 feet in width and 125 feet in length. It is projected that the restaurant will cost USD 5 crore in total. The eatery will also include a kitchen and be able to comfortably seat roughly 100 people at once. The bottom deck will have dining areas and rooms, which will be air-conditioned. A stunning open eating space will be on the upper deck.
An official from the tourism department later confirmed that the floating restaurant will be established using a public-private partnership model and that the tourism department would earn a licence fee. According to the information gathered, Kochi-based Grandeur Marine International will build and run the floating restaurant.
According to tourism minister K Ramachandran, “This will be the state’s first floating restaurant. Depending on the reception, we’ll extend the project to additional tourist destinations. This specific floating restaurant will be ideal for holding intimate gatherings and business meetings.”
This exorbitant dine-in floating restaurant is already in sensation all around. It is definitely going to turn out to be a big-hotspot for tourists and Chennaites. So, Chennaites, stay tuned and be excited to try this out.
