Gurugram to Reconstruct Roads and Enhance Infrastructure

Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority Announces Major Road Reconstruction

The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) recently revealed its plans for a significant road reconstruction project. The master sector dividing road, stretching from the Dwarka Expressway junction with Sector 86 Road to IMT Manesar, will undergo reconstruction at a cost of ?600 million. This road passes through Sectors 84/88, 85/89, 86/90, and 87/92, and is currently in severe disrepair.

Flyover Construction at Dadi Sati Chowk

In addition to the road reconstruction project, GMDA also announced the construction of a flyover at Dadi Sati Chowk in Sector 86. This project, estimated to cost ?590 million, aims to improve traffic flow and alleviate congestion in the area.

According to Arun Dhankhar, GMDA’s chief engineer, the reconstruction of the road will be similar to the successful reconstruction of Rampura Road. The tender for the project has already been floated, and the contract is expected to be awarded next month. Eight companies have placed their bids for this significant infrastructure undertaking.

The opening of the Dwarka Expressway has resulted in a significant increase in traffic in the Gurugram area. Therefore, the reconstruction of this major road is crucial to ensure smoother commuting for residents, employees, and commuters passing through.

Special Road Repairs Across Gururgam

Apart from the major road reconstruction project, GMDA is also planning special repairs for major roads throughout Gurugram. Tenders for these repairs will be awarded in the first week of August, with the aim of enhancing the overall road infrastructure in the city.

To tackle the maintenance of service roads along master sector roads in Sectors 58 to 67, a tender for special repair has been opened. The allocated budget for this project amounts to ?360 million, and the tender has received submissions from ten companies.

Infrastructure and Sports Facility Development

In an effort to enhance recreational opportunities in the city, GMDA has approved the development of sports facilities on the green belt along National Highway 48 in Sector 15 Part 2. The proposed facilities include a mini-golf course, lawn tennis courts, and badminton courts. For this development, an amount of ?55 million has been allocated, signaling the growth of recreational options for Gurugram residents and visitors.

Road Improvement Targets and Future Endeavors

Arun Dhankhar, Chief Engineer of GMDA, highlighted that the authority aims to ensure all road repairs are completed by the end of December this year. He emphasized that by undertaking these crucial repairs, the entire network of GMDA roads will be in excellent condition by next year. This commitment indicates the authority’s dedication to creating a smoother commuting experience for Gurugram residents and furthering the development of the city’s infrastructure.

With numerous road development activities monitored by GMDA, the city can look forward to improved connectivity and infrastructure, benefiting both residents and businesses. The completion of the major road reconstruction, flyover construction, and special repairs will enhance accessibility in Gurugram and make it a more attractive destination for investment in the coming years.
