After coping with the pandemic’s hard times, the world is waking up again with every service. As tourism faced the main trauma that caused the crisis in the last 2 years, Hong Kong’s Airport Authority announced a float of 500,000 free air tickets to residents and non-residents, costing $254.8 million.
As we know, China has restrictions on people moving in and out of the country. After a long wait, the plan is to resume the country’s tourism industry. This also means lifting the restrictions will open the doors for new reforms and travel policies. As per Hong Kong Tourism Board, there will be three days dedicated to the hospitality of the travellers to stay in a hotel for isolation purposes. Though, the old policies used to ask the traveller for a straight twenty days of quarantine. Later, the tenure was said to be seven with a little relaxation. With this, local residents may visit the person with proper distance maintenance.
Despite implementing various methods to regain powerful tourism engagement, Hong Kong Tourism Board struggles to get things on track. As per the media reports, there was a huge engagement in tourists visiting the city, with just 56 million in 2019 and 65 million in 2018. Since then, the guidelines created a barrier, with 76,000 visits this year.
