On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will start the country’s first water metro service, connecting the beautiful islands of Kochi to the mainland. He will be in Kerala for two days, starting on Monday, and apart from launching the water metro, he will also participate in other events and meet with senior church leaders.
A New Project in Kochi Will Make Travel Safe and Affordable for Everyone
There will be a unique project in Kochi that will promote tourism while also assisting with safe and affordable transport. This unique idea will transport people between the High Court, Vypin, Vyttila and Kakkanad using electric hybrid sailboats. A ticket costs Rs 20 to travel from the High Court to Vypin, and Rs 30 from Vyttila to Kakkanad. People get a fantastic chance to discover the city and its surroundings without spending a fortune!

The Chief Minister of Kerala has announced that passengers will soon be able to use a single card, called “Kochi 1”, to travel on both the Kochi metro and water transport.
