India has finally opened its shores and is welcoming international cruises! And this happened after our country took a two-year hiatus pertaining to the pandemic, which affected India severely.
The first cruise ship to dock in Mumbai, India, is the Viking Mars Cruise from India to Thailand. Given the difficulties the tourism sector has faced during the Covid19 pandemic, this is fantastic news. Director General of Shipping Amitabh Kumar issued the directive this year after the cruise ship Cordelia arrived in Mumbai from Goa with many Covid-19-positive passengers on board. Viking Mars Cruise, however, will finally allow India’s shipping authorities to see the light of day.
