Indian Railways Aims to Become World’s Largest “Green Railways”

According to Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer of the NFR, a total of 2,070.52 Route Kilometers (RKM) have already been electrified within the NFR, which encompasses a vast network of 4,260.52 RKMs. Among the states in the northeastern region, Assam has witnessed the greatest progress, with 1,353.23 RKMs electrified so far. Tripura follows closely behind with electrification covering 151.59 RKMs. Smaller sections in Manipur, Meghalaya, and Nagaland have also witnessed commendable developments.

To expedite the electrification process, Indian Railways has collaborated with leading organizations like IRCON India, RITES, and NFR Construction.
