While not much is known about the interiors of Sachin Bansal’s (Flipkart Co-Founder) homes, he has already sealed two residential property deals in Koramangala, Bangalore for a whopping Rs. 45 crore.

He already stays in his own house in Koramangala which is often called a boulevard for billionaires. His neighbours include Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Nandan Nilekani, Dr. Devi Shetty, Kris Gopalakrishnan and many others. Going by valuation estimates, his Koramangala property portfolio should touch almost Rs. 50 crore!

Binny Bansal’s House

Binny Bansal (Flipkart Co-Founder) is another reclusive billionaire. While not much has been seen on his plush Bangalore house, it is situated in Koramangala in a premier locality of the city. He bought a home sometime earlier here for Rs. 32 crore, making him a neighbor to all the prominent names listed above along with his one-time Flipkart Co-Founder. His 10,000 sq ft property is worth more than what he paid today, located in one of the most exclusive neighborhoods of the city.

These are only a few successful start-up founders and new-age billionaires who have purchased expensive properties in India. There are countless others who have shunned the spotlight while investing handsomely in real estate at the same time.

Aman Gupta’s House

Aman Gupta is synonymous with quirk, liveliness and a beaming smile. Wonder what we’re saying? Just watch Shark Tank India and you’ll get the drift! The mastermind behind Boat is known for his larger-than-life personality and nowhere is this reflected more aptly than his luxurious Delhi bungalow. The home has a neutral colour scheme with a lovely outdoor terrace that is dotted with charming planters. With comfortable seating options, this zone looks to be the ideal hangout for the Gupta family. The living room also carries forward the neutral colour tone with the table and sofa sporting enticing brown hues. Floral cushions on the sofa add their own vivacity to the entire space.

Ghazal Alagh’s House

The Mamaearth founder lives in style and her luxurious duplex in Gurgaon is a testament to the same. Her duplex has a fabulous terrace and being an artist, she has her own paintings dotting her abode. The terrace has lovely greenery and plants along with cute planters while she also has a library at home which has several fascinating books from leading authors. The couple also works from home and their home office looks plush with its leather seating options. The house carries forward a wooden theme which heightens its elegance quotient. It also has a well-stocked bar which is often seen in pictures. The dining table has a marble top along with wooden chairs that are immaculately polished. All in all, a stylish home indeed.

Bhavin and Divyank Turakhia’s Houses

The famed start-up brothers or the Turakhia siblings need no introduction. They set up their Directi Group in the year 1998. However, they do not have just one house. They shuttle between luxurious and lavish homes in Mumbai which is their primary Indian base and also in other global locations like Los Angeles and Dubai. The latter is their common home owing to its strategic geographical location while elder brother Bhavin also stays for a large part of the year in Mumbai.

Kiran Mazumdar Shaw’s House

Divyank Turakhia mainly stays in the U.S. where he operates Media.net. Bhavin Turakhia, on the other hand, operates Zeta, Ringo, Flock, Codechef and Radix from India. Based on reports, the brothers have done up their houses in style across multiple locations with lavish furnishings and fixtures.

A toast to one of the original start-up icons- Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, is always due! The brain behind Biocon and possibly India’s richest self-made woman, she lives on the outskirts of Bangalore City win a sprawling estate named Glenmore. It was formerly a palm plantation and the family house covers a jaw-dropping 17,000 sq ft with its red-tiled roof and fabulous collection of art. Architect Sandeep Khosla designed this lavish property while it boasts of sprawling grounds dotted with beautiful trees.

The house resembles a hacienda from Spain, courtesy of its red-tiled roof and the central courtyard. The stunning collection of Scottish and Indian art inside will make anyone go green with envy! These are showcased neatly on walls that sport a neutral cream colour. The home is tranquil and massive, something quite natural when you consider its owner, the pioneering woman who set up Biocon back in 1978 and has taken it towards becoming a global powerhouse and the biggest biotechnology player in India.

These are some tit bits on the lavish houses owned by some of India’s most famous, respected, and successful start-up founders and entrepreneurs. We will be back with more such homes and lifestyles of those who have literally turned their ideas to gold (quite literally speaking)! Watch this space for more!
