The funding model for such critical sewage projects strikes an equitable balance across different stakeholders. With 25% contribution from both the central and state governments, and the remaining 50% covered by the NMC, a robust financing plan is in place for the larger wastewater collection system. In total, the budget sanctioned for the entire wastewater collection system in Nagpur’s South Sewerage Zone, including Hudkeshwar and Narsala, amounts to a significant Rs 9.57 billion.
Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, took the opportunity to criticize the previous Uddhav Thackeray government for its neglect in allocating funds towards essential projects of such magnitude. However, he emphasized his government’s commitment and determination to fast-track the developmental initiatives to make up for lost time.
With the foundations now set, it is expected that these projects will significantly enhance the region’s infrastructure, foster sustainable development, and ultimately improve the quality of life and well-being of its residents.
