“Josler Energy Collaborates to Improve Gas Leak Detection and Reduce Emissions in India”

Josler Energy Collaborates with Heath Consultants and IGL to Enhance Gas Leak Detection

At a recent event, oil exploration and production company Josler Energy announced a significant collaboration with Heath Consultants and Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL) as part of the US-India Low Emissions Gas Task Force (LEGT). This partnership aims to introduce advanced gas leak detection technologies into IGL’s gas distribution network, which covers Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan.

A Step Towards Safety and Sustainability

The signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between IGL and Heath Consultants took place at GASTECH 2024 in Houston. This collaboration will help in reducing methane emissions and enhancing public safety across IGL’s network. As part of the agreement, Josler Energy will provide technical support, field expertise, and training to IGL employees, enabling them to utilize the latest gas leak detection technologies and implementing best practices.

Josler Energy has been actively involved in surveying over 20,000 kilometers of underground pipelines since 2019. Their efforts have been focused on preventing hazardous leaks that could potentially pose a threat to public safety, the environment, and financial resources.

Speaking about the collaboration, Sudhanshu Mehta, Chairman and Managing Director of Josler Energy, emphasized their mission to make India’s natural gas infrastructure safer, more efficient, and environmentally sustainable. By partnering with global leader Heath Consultants, which boasts over 90 years of experience, Josler Energy is strengthening its commitment to this cause.

Towards a Cleaner, Greener Future

The collaboration between Josler Energy, Heath Consultants, and IGL is expected to have a profound impact on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring the sustainable future of India’s natural gas infrastructure. This initiative stands aligned with the Indian government’s vision for a cleaner and greener future, an objective articulated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as part of his continuous efforts to lower the country’s carbon footprint.

This collaboration represents a significant milestone in the development of robust, technologically-driven initiatives that will help mitigate gas leakage, promote a safer environment, and contribute to a sustainable energy landscape. With such collaborative efforts, it is hoped that India will witness a positive transformation in its gas distribution infrastructure and set new benchmarks in global energy management.
