The 284 year old Dutch cemetery in fort Kochi is a major attraction for the visitors. The tombs in fort Kochi are the most authentic record of hundreds of Europeans who left their homelands on the mission to expand their colonial empires. Both the big and small tombs resemble the Dutch architecture of the period and inscriptions on them are in the Old Dutch script. The cemetery is a just a short walk from the lighthouse.

These Chinese fishing nets at Fort Kochi is a major attraction of the tourist visiting every year. These are fixed land installations which are used for the purpose of fishing applying a very unique and different method. The net is dropped into the water and soaked into it for at least three to four minutes before pulling it back. Fishes are trapped into the net in a good amount driven by the tides.
