Under this scheme, customers with an LPG connection can receive the subsidy/rebate directly in their bank accounts. However, it is compulsory for their LPG connection to be linked with Aadhaar. How to Get Gas Subsidy Credited to Your Bank Account?

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) issues Aadhaar cards to the citizens of the country. It comprises a unique 12-digit identification number for each individual. The card also contains the citizen’s biometric details and is used as proof of address and identity.

Verified Aadhaar 

You need to have a verified Aadhaar card. By verified, we mean that your Aadhaar card must be linked to a verified mobile number and email address. There are two ways to do that, one is the online method and the other is the offline one. The former requires you to visit the official UIDAI website, while the latter requires you to visit your nearest enrolment centre.

In the online method, you need to enter your Aadhaar number, mobile number and email address in the designated fields. Then enter the correct captcha code and hit the ‘Send OTP’ option. Once you enter the OTP, your Aadhar Card will be verified. 

In the offline method, you will have to visit Aadhaar Kendra and manually fill out a gas connection subsidy form. After the application is processed, it will take 15-20 days to get verified. 

Aadhaar Linked to Bank Account

How to Add Aadhaar Number to HP Gas Online?

• Go to UIDAI’s Resident Self Seeding Portal
• Enter your location and address
• Select your benefit type – LPG connection by HPCL (Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd.)
• Enter your personal information

• Enter the OTP (that you receive on your registered mobile number) to link your Aadhaar with HP gas.

Offline Method for Updating Aadhaar Card LPG Link Status      

Follow the below-mentioned steps to update Aadhaar card LPG link status via offline method: 

• Collect the Aadhaar-LPG linking form from your nearest HPCL distributor.
• Enter all the details such as your LPG ID and Aadhaar Number
• Attach an Aadhaar card copy (self-attested) with the form
• Submit the form to your nearest HPCL distributor and your Aadhaar card LPG link status will be updated

SMS Method for Linking Aadhaar Card with LPG     

• To use the SMS method for linking Aadhaar to LPG, you need to register your mobile number with your state’s agency. For that, you need to first visit www[dot]hindustanpetroleum[dot]com/pages/hp-anytime. View the list of state-wise contact numbers and send an SMS to your state’s contact number.
• The SMS format is UID <Aadhaar Card Number>. Type your UID and send that to your state’s number.  For example, if your Aadhaar card number (UID) is 456789101112, the SMS format would be UID 456789101112.
• Once done, you will receive a confirmation SMS of successful Aadhaar HP linking on your phone number. 

IVRS Method to Link Aadhaar with HP Gas

• Go to the official HPCL website – www[dot]hindustanpetroleum[dot]com
• Under the ‘Welcome to the World of HPCL’ section, click on HP Gas (LPG) option.     
• On the new page, look for the “Quick Access” section and click on ‘HP Anytime.’
• Here, you will get a list of state-wise phone numbers. Note down your state’s number.
• Dial that number and carefully follow all the instructions for linking Aadhaar with      gas subsidy.
• You will require entering your 12-digit Aadhaar card number, once entered, confirm it by pressing 1. 
• If the HP IVRS number of your state doesn’t work, you may use the alternative number given on the website.

Bharat Gas customers have an additional method to update their LPG Aadhaar link status. They can call on the Bharat Gas connection by using the call centre or customer care number i.e. 1800 22 4344. It is a toll-free number that connects you to a call centre executive. The executive asks for your 12-digit Aadhaar number and asks for a few other details to link your Aadhar to LPG. They send you a confirmation email or SMS after receiving all the required information from your end.
