“Sita Ramam” a Telugu period romantic drama starring actor Dulquer Salmaan managed to shine in the US and earned half a million just on its opening weekend. One of the US distributors of the film released a poster confirming the winning of the movie at the US box office with $500,000. 

This made a big headline as the drama had a slow start at the domestic box office but soon picked up pace on the second day itself. The movie so far earns Rs. 10 crores from the opening weekend. Director Hanu Raghavapudi said that the spread of positive word-of-mouth has helped the drama in picking up momentum at the box office. The movie is based on a lieutenant officer in the Indian Army against the Kashmir backdrop in the 1960s. The movie has great actresses like Rashmika Mandanna, Mrunal Thakur, and actor Sumanth. 

On a personal level, Dulquer stated that he has decided not to do any more love stories but when Hanu sir brought this epic love story, he couldn’t resist.
