During a press conference in New Delhi, India was announced as the host country for the prestigious 71st Miss World 2023 pageant, as revealed by Julia Morley, the Chairperson and CEO of the Miss World Organization. This marks a significant return for the beauty pageant to India after a gap of 27 years, with the last hosting in 1996.
Initially, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was chosen to host the pageant for this year. However, a decision was made to revise the selection, ultimately awarding India the honour. The decision to choose India as the host reflects the nation’s rich cultural heritage, its dedication to promoting diversity, and its commitment to empowering women.
The Miss World Organization expressed their delight in awarding India with this prestigious opportunity. They acknowledged India’s vibrant traditions, culture, and history, establishing it as a global powerhouse in beauty and fashion.
