NMACC: Nita Ambani Inaugurates New Cultural Centre in Mumbai

On the joyous occasion of Ram Navami, Nita Ambani sought the choicest blessings of the Almighty for the launch of the much-awaited Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC). India’s first-of-its-kind multi-disciplinary cultural space was inaugurated in a grandeur that was graced by an array of A-list celebrities from the Indian Film Industry and Hollywood alike.

A Night of Star-Studded Grandeur

The launch was a star-studded night that saw the presence of Bollywood’s biggest stars including Shahrukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor, and Priyanka Chopra and her singer husband Nick Jonas. International celebrities like top model Gigi Hadid, ace fashion designer Law Roach, and Hollywood stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Penelope Cruz were also present at the event. Everyone was mesmerised by the brilliance of India’s finest offerings in music, theatre, fine arts, and crafts. 

Spectacular Performances On the Second Day

The second day of the prestigious National Media and Cultural Centre (NMACC) was a spectacular affair, with performances from some of Bollywood’s biggest stars. Alia Bhatt and Rashmika Mandanna took to the stage to perform the hit song ‘Nacho Nacho’, whilst Shahrukh Khan and his entourage of Ranveer Singh and Varun Dhawan had the audience up on their feet with ‘Jhoome Jo Pathan’. Ranveer Singh then took to the stage to rap his hit song ‘Apna Time Aayega’, before calling on Priyanka Chopra Jonas to join him in a dance performance of the iconic Gallan Goodiyaan from Dil Dhadakne Do.

Nita Ambani, the founder of the NMACC, expressed her joy at the success of the event: “Creating this Cultural Centre has been an incredibly special journey for us. We wanted to create a platform to showcase the best of India to the world, as well as to welcome the best of the world to India, thus celebrating the illustrious artistic and cultural heritage in the field of cinema, music, dance, literature, folklore, arts and crafts, science and spirituality.”

The Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) is a magnificent celebration of India’s finest cultural offerings. Located within the Jio World Centre in Mumbai’s BKC, NMACC is a multi-disciplinary space that brings to life India’s artistic brilliance and showcases the very best of India and the rest of the world in the realm of arts.

The Centre is home to three incredible performing arts spaces: the grandiose 2,000-seat Grand Theatre, the state-of-the-art 250-seat Studio Theatre, and the vibrant 12-seat Cube. The Grand Theatre is outfitted with the latest in Dolby Atmos Surround Sound Systems, Virtual Acoustic Systems, and a lighting system that sparkles with 8,400+ Swarovski crystals. The Studio Theatre is designed for intimate performances, and its telescopic seating system can be adjusted to suit the needs of each event. Meanwhile, the Cube is the perfect platform for discovering and nurturing creative new-age talent.

The Art House is an expansive 16,000 sq. ft. visual arts area built in accordance with global museum standards. It houses a shifting array of installations and exhibits from the best artistic talents across the country and the world, with workshops and educational events. The Centre also features captivating public art by famous Indian and global artists, such as ‘Kamal Kunj’ – one of the biggest Pichwai paintings in the country.
