“Noida plot owners demand action amidst endless delays”

Plot owners in Noida protest as they await possession even eight years after registry

Noida’s Sector 145 was engulfed in protests on Sunday as scores of plot owners expressed frustration over the delay in receiving physical possession of their residential plots. Despite eight years since the registry, the required development work in the sector has not been completed.

The protest, organized by the Resident Welfare Association (RWA) of Sector 145, saw participation from people of all age groups, including senior citizens, men, women, and children. The protestors carried banners and posters demanding justice for their long-awaited possession.

The Noida Authority officials were unable to offer any comment when contacted. Latsahab Lohia, the president of the Sector 145 RWA, expressed exasperation with the authorities, stating, “We’re fed up with the Noida Authority’s endless excuses and lack of transparency.”

According to Lohia, the Noida Authority has not only failed to fulfill its promises but has also been responsible for delaying the development of the sector. Many plot owners have invested their life savings, and the inability to obtain possession has turned their dream of a home into a nightmare.

The RWA highlighted that the protest was initiated as the local authority and the district administration have failed to provide a clear timeline for handing over physical possession of the plots. Approximately 2,250 plots, affecting around 15,000 people, have been kept waiting despite registries completed eight years ago.

Lohia stressed, “We demand action now, not words.” The protesters are urging the authorities to provide a concrete timeline for the handover and development of the sector, as their patience has been exhausted after years of unfulfilled promises.

The plot owners in Noida are firmly asserting their rights, demanding accountability from the Noida Authority for the unwarranted delay in delivering possession and completing the necessary development work in the sector. As developments unfold, it remains to be seen how the authorities respond to this agitation and the resolution that can be offered to the affected plot owners in Noida’s Sector 145.
