The North Delhi Municipal Corporation is one of the five municipal corporations of Delhi. The rules regarding the registration of any births in North Delhi are governed by the Birth and Deaths Registration Act, 1969. This act dictates that all births must be registered with the concerned municipal authorities within 21 days of occurrence. The application has to be submitted with all the necessary information and documents regarding the birth of the child. The birth certificate is usually issued within 5 days once all the details have been verified. The price for getting a birth certificate are as follows:

• If the birth is registered within 21 days of occurrence, then the first copy is provided by the hospital free of charge
• For any copies after the first one, a fee of ₹ 20 is applicable per copy
• If the birth is reported within 21 days to 30 days of occurrence, a late fee of ₹ 7 will be charged on registration

How to Get a Death Certificate in North Delhi Municipal Corporation?

In North Delhi, it is compulsory to register any death happening within 21 days of occurrence. Step 1: You will need to visit the official website for Municipal Corporation of Delhi and select your region as North DMC.

Step 2: On the resulting page, click on the ‘Registration of Birth & Death’ tab.

Step 3: On the resulting page you need to click on ‘Birth and Death Registration by Empanelled Institutions’ link.

How to Get Marriage Certificate in North Delhi Municipal Corporation?

In order to get a marriage certificate from the North Delhi Municipal Corporation, you will need to register the union at the Registrar’s office. This can be done in-person as well as online. The procedure for doing both are as follows:

Procedure for Offline Marriage Registration in NDMC

In order to get a marriage registered, the applicant has to visit the concerned Registrar’s office. You are required to fill an application and support it with all the documents to complete your registration process. The procedure for registration is as follows:

Step 1: The application has to be completed and duly signed by both the parties.

Step 2: You will then get a receipt confirming the submission of the application. Once the details have been verified, they will be uploaded to the state records.

Step 3: You will then be required to visit the Registrar’s office again on a scheduled date.

Step 4: On the prescribed date, both the parties have to be present in addition to a Gazetted officer who will act as a witness to the union.

Step 5: The applicants and the witness are then required to sign on the registry to officially register the marriage.

In case of an already solemnized marriage, the marriage certificate will be issued on the same date. In case the application has been submitted before the solemnization of marriage, then the authorities will wait for a period of 30 days so as to allow time for any public objections. Once the 30 days are over, the certificate will be issued.

How to Make Online Tax Payments Through NDMC Portal

The North Delhi Municipal Corporation is responsible for collecting property taxes from residents within its jurisdiction. You are liable to pay a tax on any property that you own in the state. Residents of North Delhi are required to make said tax payments to the NDMC. All the properties you own are regarded as falling under property tax law. The taxes are charged annually on the basis of a deadline set by the NDMC. The following are the steps to easily pay property tax through the NDMC portal:

Step 1:  You need to visit the official MCD website. Here you need to select North Delhi MCD from the list of options available to you.

Step 2: This will redirect you to a page where you need to click on the box to agree to the terms and conditions and select ‘click here to file property tax’.

Step 3: On this page, you are required to enter your property ID. You can choose to enter your property ID from previous year’s tax payment. 

Step 4: If this is your first time filing property tax online, then you need to click on ‘First time online taxpayer’. Then click on ‘click here if property ID has not been allotted earlier’. This will redirect you to a page where you have to enter the required information and click on ‘Submit’. A property ID will be generated and sent to your registered phone number.

Step 5: After you enter the newly generated property ID to proceed. You will be redirected to a new page where you need to enter various details regarding your property ownership.

Step 6: The tax amount due will automatically be calculated once all the details have been entered. Click on ‘Submit’.

Step 7: This will take you to the payment gateway page. Choose your prefered mode of payment and complete the transaction.

Step 8: Once the payment has been made, you can view your payment challan. Click on ‘generate challan’ and download it for future reference.
