PAN Application Form Deviations
A PAN application has two forms – Form 49A and Form 49AA. Both the forms have different fields that you have to fill. Therefore, you must enter your name, gender, birth date, age, address, and other personal details. However, there are some specific fields that you must fill with utmost care. In other words, even a single mistake can reject your PAN application.
For instance, if the name entered has a different spelling than the one in your identity proof then, there are high chances of your PAN form rejection.
Deviation During the Submission of supporting Documents
There are two instances where the PAN department will not accept your documents:
- If the documents don’t have clear printing or are not well furnished. The Senior authorities will not be able to authenticate your identity proof.
- Another instance is when the documents are linked with another document (two different documents on the same page or attested together).
In both the above cases, Your PAN application will be rejected by the NSDL or wherever you have applied for it.
What are Some Primary Reasons for Pan Card Rejections?
Here are 7 primary reasons one should not make to avoid PAN rejections.
Don’t Forget to Mention Your PIN Code
It is the human tendency to ignore small things or miss them by mistake. Hence, there is a high chance of you missing the PIN code section unfilled in the PAN card form. Thus, it is advisable to fill in the correct PIN code and double-check it before submission.
Use ISD and STD Codes
If you are filing a landline number, write the ISD and STD codes in the PAN application form. The same rule goes for mobile numbers as well. Ensure to write the country code right. These little right things can make your PAN card easily without any rejections.
Signature is Incorrect
There are two places in the PAN card application form you have to sign. One is across the photograph and the other in the field provided below. And, signing outside these designated spaces can result in an error that leads to PAN rejection. Therefore, your correct signature is a crucial aspect of filling a PAN card.
Use of Blue Ink
In most Government forms, the use of blue ink is obstructed. However, sometimes you may use blue ink instead of black causing PAN rejection. Therefore, it is mandatory to use black ink only for government-issued forms.
Use of Initials
The Indian Income Tax Department does not prefer the initials on the form. Therefore, you must write your complete name rather than using initials.
Note: You must write your complete name in any Government Form and not the initials you have in your name.
You can see the correct method of writing your name in the table below.
Name | Method |
Aditya R. Birla | Wrong |
Aditya Rao Birla | Right |
Scanned Photos
Every form you fill in needs at least two photographs in a passport size format. These photos need to be on your PAN card application as well. However, when we use scanned photographs, instead of regular ones, it leads to PAN rejection directly. Therefore, it is advisable to avoid this mistake and produce original photographs.
Valid Documents
There are three primary documents required for the issuance of a PAN card.
They are-
- Identity Proof
- Address Proof
- Proof of Date of Birth
You can also check the document requirement by visiting the official NSDL website before submitting any record attested to PAN card form both offline and online.
For online: The software will prompt every time you make a mistake. Therefore, applying online for a PAN card means fewer chances of rejection.
For Offline: Filing a PAN application offline is not that difficult because there are agents who can get PAN cards for you successfully in a single attempt. However, the chances of manual errors increase the risk of rejections.
Note: Make sure to write your name in Block letters.
