Citizens in Maharashtra receive their driver’s licences and learner’s permits from the state’s Motor Vehicles Department. Additionally, it offers services such as car registration, driving licence renewal, granting an overseas driving permit, etc. All of these services are provided by the Department online through Maharashtra’s Parivahan Portal.

Maharashtra Parivahan Driving Licence Application

The Parivahan Portal is where people can apply for a driving licence in Maharashtra, as detailed below:

• Visit the Parivahan website at https://parivahan[dot]gov[dot]in/parivahan/

• Select ‘Drivers/ Learners License’ from the menu.
• Choose Maharashtra from the list of states.

• The main page of the Maharashtra government’s motor vehicles department is displayed on the following screen, along with a list of its many services.

• Choose ‘Apply for a Driving License.’
• Read the guidelines. To move on to the following step, click the ‘Continue’ button.
• Enter the applicant’s information, including the learner’s licence number and birthdate. Upload each of the application’s required supporting documents. Then click ‘Submit.’

• The payment gateway will now be accessed by applicants. Pay the fee using your preferred payment method from the list of possibilities.
• It will produce a payment receipt and acknowledgement slip. Make a note of the application number for your records.
• Online slot booking for the DL test must be finished.
• Visit the nearby RTO and bring all necessary documentation. Within 30 days following the test, if you passed the driving competence test, you will receive your driver’s licence.

Maharashtra Parivahan Driving Licence Renewal Online

Drivers should submit a renewal application one year before the licence expiration date or within one year of the license’s expiration. A new application is required for the driving test.

• Visit the parivahan[dot]gov[dot]in website to submit an application for DL renewal. Select ‘Maharashtra’ from the drop-down list of states.
• Then, select ‘Apply for DL renewal.’ The instructions for submitting your application are on the next page. After reading the directions, click ‘Continue.’ The portal also offers the ability to ‘Download Form 1A.’ To download the form, click the link.
• Enter pertinent information on the following page, such as your birthdate and licence number. To finish the process, enter the captcha code and click ‘continue.’
• Documents must be uploaded by applicants. Only those who need the Additional Endorsement of a Driving Licence may reserve a test time slot (AEDL).
• Check the status after completing the fee payment process. There will be a receipt produced.

Parivahan Maharashtra Application Status

Through the Sarathi Parivahan Maharashtra portal, applicants can also monitor the status of their driving licence applications.

• Visit the website parivahan[dot]gov[dot]in. Select ‘Maharashtra’ from the drop-down list of states.

• On the state transportation department page that loads, select the ‘Application Status’ option.
• Fill in the blanks with your application information, including your application number and birthdate. Enter the appropriate box’s captcha code. Click ‘Submit’ now.
• The screen will provide the application status.

Parivahan Maharashtra Learning Licence Application

You must first receive a learner’s permit before applying for a permanent licence (LL). The steps are described below:

• Visit the Parivahan Sarathi website’s page for the Maharashtra Motor Vehicles Department.
• Select ‘Apply for Learner’s License’ from the menu.
• After reading the instructions carefully, click the ‘Continue’ button.
• Select the category and enter your name, birth date, vehicle identification number, etc., the necessary paperwork online. Then click ‘submit.’
• Go to the payment portal and make the payment by selecting a payment option. It will produce a payment receipt and acknowledgement slip.

After completing the online slot reservation process, visit the RTO to review the verification and approval steps.

Without travelling to an RTO, applicants who use Aadhaar authentication can apply for the LL test from home or any other location of their choice.
