Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar Metro
During Fiscal Year 2017-2018, the State Government of Maharashtra approved the implementation of the Pune Metro project in terms of design, build, operations, finance, Transfer (DBFOT) model with PPP. The final approval was given on 9th February 2018. In addition, the Government of India granted a 20 percent VGF or Validity Gap Fund for this project. This percentage was granted on 7th March 2018 during the 30th Empowered Committee meeting.
Pune Ring Road Project
The government of Maharashtra gave final approval on the proposed Pune Ring Road on 7th September 2013. Earlier the road was approved on 25th November 1997 and was established outside Pune. With a width of 90 metres, the road required a new network which was accomplished through the Pune Ring Road Project. This PMRDA Ring Road will be built 10 kilometres outside the city’s boundary.
The approximate length of the road is 128.08 km. The overall cost of the project along with the land acquisition of ₹5800 Crore is ₹17,412 Crore. This costing was determined based upon the land rates scheduled in Financial Year 2015-16.
Salient Features of the Pune Ring Road
The Pune Ring Road project will be executed in three phases. First, Nagar Road to Satara Road, second Satara Road to Mumbai-Pune Expressway, and third Mumbai–Pune Expressway to Nagar Road. Let’s look at some of its features below.

- The Right of Way will be 110.0 metre.
- Main Carriageway will comprise 4 + 4 lanes.

Mahalunge – Maan TP Scheme
The PMRDA outlined the development of the very first Town Planning Scheme across Mahalunge – Maan, and Taluka – Mulshi. Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning authority approved the scheme based upon MRTP Act 1966, clause no. 60(1). The project approval was given on 5th August 2017. Initially, a project budget of ₹616.90 Crore was sanctioned. It will contain the below depicted Infrastructure facilities:

- The estimated population that will be facilitated through the project is 2,86,562.
- The plot area of 50.40 percent is allocated specifically to the private owners.
- Technically, the tender and technical committee sanctioned the scheme on 9th January 2019 with a costing of ₹502.48 Cr.
Indrayani Riverfront: PMRDA proposed this riverfront project for the overall development of the Indrayani River. The initiative was taken considering pollution, development of riverfront, flood mitigation system, and navigation system. The key idea was to make the site a tourist place. The overall cost estimation of the project is ₹1587 crore.

Future Plans of PMRDA
PMRDA was established with the objective to transform the Metropolitan area of Pune into a completely different global standard. The aim of this meticulous planning is to keep the focus on PMR and not other related areas. Additionally, a dedicated mechanism is put forward to attract more Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).
