The well-recognised event ‘Sabal Awards’ by India’s most trusted and renowned company Tata Steel Foundation is gaining massive attention on the Internet. After 5 years of successive editions, Sabal Awards 2022 has impressively engaged the audience’s interest due to the visually-impaired boy winning the National level Sabal Award. Raghunath Rag is a school student who has bagged the third position singing competition. This child from Chattisgarh has been fully visually impaired since birth, but his voice has made history in competition with 17 more state competence.

Besides the title, Raghunath Nag has won a citation and a check of INR 10,000. According to the reports, he is the fourth of his five siblings. He is currently studying in class 10th at Aakar Sansthan in Sukrama District. This is a famous educational institute for differently abled children. Besides singing, Raghunath has had expertise in Harmonium playing, Dholak, and Tabla, since he was in grade 4th. The multitalented boy wants to build his career in the music stream, which can be seen in his persistence, dedication and hard work.

What is the “Sabal Award” by Tata Steel Foundation?
Tata Steel Foundation had taken this initiative with the ‘‘Sabal Awards” in 2017 as a national level award, specifically introduced for specially-abled people. It has been going on since then for the last five years. The function had taken place for the first edition in Noamundi, Jamshedpur. The grand event is executed with the partnership with Enable India, whose purpose is to create Person’s Abilities for the Disabled (PWD).

Currently, the national level Sabal Award creates a platform for three basic categories of disabilities: hearing, sight, and orthopaedic.
