A Vande Bharat Express train service has been proposed between Jaipur, Udaipur and Indore to reduce the traveller load from Jaipur Junction.
The introduction of Vande Bharat Express trains has transmogrified the rail system of India. This blue and white rail has given passengers comfort and better connectivity to different states of India. Rajasthan will get two more Vande Bharat Express trains for routes Udaipur and Indore from Jaipur, said the officials from North Western Railway (NWR).
The starting point of this service is yet to be finalised between Jaipur Junction or other stations like Durgapura or Khatipura Station, with stoppage on Gandhinagar Jaipur, they added. The state already has two trains running from Ajmer-Delhi Cantt and one from Jodhpur-Sabarmati. This high-speed train boasts 530 seats and eight carriages outfitted with trailblazing amenities, which will be operational six days a week, excluding Sundays.
A trial run between Udaipur and Jaipur via Ajmer and Bhilwara has already been done, during which 450 kilometres and a time span of 6 hours were recorded. The precise start date of this successful test run has not yet been revealed. The chief public relations officer of NWR, Shashi Kiran, assures the details of this new route are being worked out and will start soon after planning finer elements like the number of stops and the ticket price are in place. The Railway Board will release the schedule as soon as the PMO gives a clear go.
