The Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan recipient Mr. Ratan Tata have done it once again. The Indian business magnet recently received Australia’s highest civilian honour, ‘The Order of Australia’ AO. The 85-year-old industrialist has been presented with this award owing to his efforts to strengthen Australia’s and India’s bilateral relations.
The award was presented by the country’s High Commissioner to India, Barry O’Farrell. He even shared pictures from the ceremony and wrote, “Ratan Tata is a titan of biz, industry and philanthropy not just in India, but his contributions have also made a significant impact in Australia. Delighted to confer Order of Australia (AO) honour to Ratan Tata in recognition of his longstanding commitment to the Australian and Indian relationship.”

For the unversed, TCS (Tata Consultancy Services), one of the companies operating under the umbrella of Tata Group, employs the biggest Australian workforce with a massive employee strength of 17,000 people.
This honour comes after a month of Mr. Ratan Tata was appointed as an honorary officer in the General Division of the Order of Australia (AO). Recently, Microsoft founder Bill Gates had also visited Tata Sons Chairman and Chairperson of the Tata Group Mr. Nataranjan Chan in India to discuss the possible charitable endeavours that could be done for the betterment of the citizens. The objective of this conversation was to elevate their collaboration and come together as a team for verticals like nutrition, diagnostics, and health.
