In another record breaking transaction in the Mumbai real estate market, a noted businessman has forked out the largest sum of money for a single apartment in the city. This deal has been a mindboggling development for property experts in the city and indicates the positive sentiments that are steadily coming to the fore once again in Mumbai’s real estate market. Niraj Bajaj, a well-known businessman, shelled out a whopping Rs. 120 crore to purchase an apartment in Worli.
This apartment measures 1, 587 square meters and as per the city’s property experts, this is the highest amount ever paid for a single apartment. The last such mega purchase was seen when Deven Mehta, another businessman, paid a whopping Rs. 57.45 crore to buy a single apartment at the tony Peddar Road project Lodha Altamount.
The apartment purchased by Niraj Bajaj is located on the 50th floor of the Three Sixty West real estate project. This project is currently being constructed and is located along the prime Dr. Annie Besant Road. As per reports, Rs. 6 crore was paid by the businessman as the stamp duty for getting his apartment registered. The flat is located in Tower-A and Bajaj will also be getting 8 slots for car parking accordingly. As per reports, Bajaj is already a resident of Peddar Road.
He is associated with the company Mukund Limited although he has purchased this apartment in his own capacity. The project is being built by Oberoi Builders. Mumbai is no stranger to such big ticket real estate deals which have even gone up to Rs. 200 crore but these have encompassed multiple housing units or apartments. The deal for this single apartment is hugely expensive as per experts even for the Dr. Annie Besant Road stretch. People are now calling it the Golden Mile as far as Mumbai real estate is concerned.
The same project has already seen another previous record being set. Parle Agro Private Limited purchased four apartments in this project sometime back for a whopping Rs. 168.49 crore. The total area measures 2, 866 square meters for these apartments and Parle Agro Private Limited forked out Rs. 8.4 crore by way of stamp duty.
