From hitting rock bottom and again making himself rise from the dust, the world saw a real-life Iron Man in this star performer. It is widely believed that only Robert Downey Jr could fit perfectly in the character of Iron Man. Only a man who’s a billionaire, genius, playboy and philanthropist could fill in the unique character of Tony Stark.

The Entrance

Any individual entering a house first notices its entrance. This is the reason why Joe Nahem (one of the top-notch New York-based interior designers) wanted the entry of Robert Downey Jr’s home to look very welcoming. He renovated the same by adding elements to make the entryway look more open.

In the beginning, he changed the wall colours to white colour and added paintings and art made by Ati Sedgwick on the right side of the wall and Pasco on the left sidewall.

But after a year, the paintings were so in demand and got so hit that they decided to shift the paintings to the main bedroom of the house. And the cherry on the top was the Phillip Jeffries striped wallpaper that actually acted as a plus point in adding depth to the entire space by lowering the darker tone a bit.

The living space in Robert Downey Jr’s house was where major renovations were done six weeks after purchasing this quirky house. The Downey family decided to add more space to the living room, clearing all the décor and lighting elements to completely transform the vibe of the place. The designer hired by RDJ expanded the living room and installed a huge fireplace wrapping the room’s wall.

The Bedroom

As far as the bedroom is concerned, RDJ wanted to stick to the same layout as before. But later, he added an ocean waves art piece by Thomas de Leliwa that marked a statement by complementing the vintage lounge chairs covered with Fishman’s fabric.

He also changed the colour tones of the wall and added another portrait made by Shepard Fairey along with a studio rug by Modloft and Custom Hansel that brought a colourful and vibrant effect to the bedroom.

In the dining room, only the outdated furniture of the space was replaced with some lighter tone furniture so that the space looks a little brighter than before. The room also houses exquisite artwork by David Palmer & Pedro Friedeberg. The dining room also includes a castle table and a chair by Sergio Rodrigues.

The Sunroom

Another room that was added to the house was the sunroom, where initially, the interiors were pretty heavy, including dark-coloured curtains, etc. But when Nahem took over the job, he completely transformed the space by using his skills.

He made sure that the sunroom had all the important components included. He removed all the heavy curtains and allowed the sun to enter the room. Along with that, he also changed the dark tones to lighter ones this time and kept the base colour of the room white.

To brighten the sunroom even more, he contrasted the white wall colours with a vibrant carpet and a beautiful, bulbous chandelier. To add depth to the decor, he further enhanced the design with two extra chairs and a wooden table.

At the time of purchase, Robert Downey Jr’s home had a solid screened porch that beautifully added to the vast lawn, yet the couple ensured to upgrade the elegance levels of the patio furniture. Six weeks after RDJ bought this bungalow, huge sofas were placed on the porch, along with a stunning cocktail table. To introduce a serendipitous symmetry to the room’s appearance, the contact table and sofas were further coupled with solid wood chairs, ceiling light and throw pillows in great numbers.

Apart from his windmill house in Malibu, the actor has also bought a property in Venice. The key elements included in crafting their Venice house is described as below:

• It is a three-story residence located in Venice, CA.
