Salt Lake is one of the most coveted places to live in Kolkata. The metro network connecting to Salt Lake is also being built as part of the East West Metro’s second phase. This should be functional by December 2020. This will enhance connectivity from Salt Lake to other parts of Kolkata. This network will also link to the Howrah Maidan. The Bidhannagar Railway Station is also a major connectivity lifeline nearby. There are good public transportation facilities available as well.
Salt Lake is home to several reputed educational institutions like the International School of Business and Media, National Institute of Fashion Technology, Institute of Engineering and Management, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade and Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan among others. There are leading hospitals, recreational and entertainment zones, shopping malls like City Centre and restaurants located in Salt Lake.
