The Elysian Uruguay Farm

An entire farm? Yes! 12 acres of land, described as idyllic and romantic by the Latin superstar, is surely a slice of heaven. Shakira shared this land with her then boyfriend Antonio de la Rúa where they were often spotted hanging out. Located in a small fishing village of Faro José Ignacio, this is where Shakira derived her inspiration for the 2008 album ‘Love In the Time of Cholera’.

The expensive farm has seven bedrooms, four bedrooms in the main house and two in the guest house. The main house is believed to have a gym, work office and a theatre. Reportedly, Shakira also built a recording studio within the area to polish her exquisite vocal skills. Seems like this particular sphere was quite popular because Shakira was accompanied by Rolling Stones’ guitarist Ronnie Wood as her neighbour.

The home’s exterior boasts a heated pool encapsulated by decking, a sauna, a tennis court, and a lake with private boats (lavish much?). The area was kept under perimetre surveillance to ensure Shakira’s safety. Eventually, the couple called it quits in August 2010 which left a huge quarrel over who would get the Uruguay farm.

Spread over an area of 8,000 square feet, this estate is located on the esteemed North Bay Road and was added to her portfolio for $3.4 million. The property is currently listed for $15.9 million as the 11-time Grammy winner has been trying to get it off her hands.

The home is also a reflection of her South American and Middle Eastern roots witnessed in elements like decorative mirrors and a hookah lounge. Each space, from the bedroom to the living area to the kitchen is expansive and has a sleek finish owing to the modern design. It also boasts a fitness room, avant-garde entertainment wing that features modern devices and a pool table. The house has eight bathrooms and six bedrooms, perfectly complementing the diva’s entourage. 

Shakira’s Home in Barcelona

Popularly known as the ‘Waka Waka’ couple, Shakira and Gerard Piqué locked eyes before the Fifa World Cup 2010 in South Africa. As is his second nature, confident Piqué then told Shakira that they will meet in the finals. 11 years later they are the proud parents of two children and the owners of a lavish Barcelona bungalow in Spain. The couple apparently spent $5.9 million on this plush property located in the Pedralbes neighbourhood. 

Shakira and Piqué’s house is drooling with luxury inclusive of seven bedrooms, swimming pool with a waterfall, gym, two kitchens and a gazillion other amenities including a private theatre.

The grandiose of the house expands to two other buildings adjacent to this property. These two homes belong to both Gerard Piqué and Shakira’s parents. All three homes are interconnected with a common swimming pool.

In 2018, their paradise was robbed by a couple of burglars despite tight security. Some expensive jewellery and watches were stolen with no harm to any life. 

The property is known as being one of the best houses in the city, matching up to Piqué’s reputation as one of the best defenders of his generation. Unfortunately, the couple announced their separation after 12 years of living together. While there have been doubts as to who will be the new owner of the house, the emotional walls seem to have transcended to real life as Shakira is now planning to put up actual walls to stray away from Piqué’s parents.

A beautiful island in the Mediterranean Sea, this Cypriot property overlooks the Sea of Akamas and is located near Paphos.

The decision of investing in a residence would have been a result of their frequent visits in and out of Cyprus. This palatial holiday home has a two-kilometre beachfront for the family to enjoy, fine dining options and a spa. This largest sea-facing resort in Cyprus is evaluated at an exorbitant price of $2.3 million. The villa is a perfect idyllic spot with a private gym, jacuzzi, home cinema, wine cellar, and other amenities.
