SSP or Self Service Portal is a platform introduced by ICAI or The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, the world’s second-largest professional body of Chartered Accountants. ICAI is a statutory body under the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949, legislated by the Parliament of India to manage the Chartered Accountancy regulations in the country. The SSP Portal was established for students, firms and members of the institute. The role of ICAI is to regulate the work of accountancy, develop accounting standards, keep track of quality through peer review and more through the Self Service Portal. It is a one-stop destination for CA students, firms and members to file and update their ICAI forms.

The SSP portal is where the CA students, firms and members can know about the following services:-

How to Log in to SSP Portal ICAI?
The Student Registration Number (SRN)/Member Registration Number (MRN) is required for the ICAI members and CA students to log in to the SSP. The SSP Portal can also be logged in for registration in the CA course without an SRN for new candidates.
It is important for the existing students or members to first register on the SSP portal with SRN and MRN. Once successfully registered, the students and members on the SSP can use the below steps to log in to the SSP:
Step 1: Visit the official portal of ICAI and go to the option of “Self Service Portal” on the homepage
Step 2: Fill in the User ID and password sent while registering on SSP.
Step 3: Click on “Login” button.
How to Change Password of Self Service Portal of ICAI?
In case you have forgotten your password or wish to change your password, follow the below steps:
- Visit the official website of the SSP Portal and click on the student login on the homepage.
- Then, click on the forgot password and make a password reset request.
- Enter your user ID or email and click on get OTP.
- Now enter the OTP and click on submit.
- You can recover your password here by clicking on the new password and submit.
Registration Process
Here is the step-by-step registration process for different categories. Have a look:
SSP Portal Registration Process for New Students
Step 1: Visit the official website of ICAI and choose the option of the “Self Service Portal” on the homepage.
Step 2: Click on the button – “First Time User (New Student)? Click Here”.
Step 3: Now the registration form will appear. Fill in the details like name, date of birth, gender, mobile number, email, nationality and name of the country.
Step 4: Click on the “generate OTP” button and enter the CAPTCHA.
Step 5: Then, you will receive the OTP on your mobile number and the verification link on your email by clicking on the “Submit” button”.
Step 6: Fill on the OTP and click on the button – “Validate OTP”.
Step 7: You will receive the User ID and password on SMS/Email post the OTP validation. Log in to the portal by entering the user ID and password.
Step 8: Once the registration is done, you can log in to the SSP portal by entering the login credentials.
SSP Portal Registration Process for Existing Students
Use the below steps to register on the SSP Portal if you are already registered with the ICAI and have an SRN number:
Step 1: Visit the official website of ICAI and click on the option “Self Service Portal” on the homepage.
Step 2: Click on the button – “Don’t Have a Login to SSP Yet? (Existing Students/Members) Click Here”.
Step 3: Choose the option “Student”.
Step 4: Fill in the details like SRN or Student Registration Number and date of birth. Now click on the button – “Validate”.
Step 5: Once you click the “Validate” button, a message will be sent to you asking for the updation of your communication details such as the mobile number and email.
Step 6: You need to click on the button – “Generate OTP” when you’ve entered your communication details.
Step 7: Next, fill in the CAPTCHA and click on the “Submit” button.
Step 8: Enter the OTP you received on your mobile number and email address. Now click the button “Validate OTP”.
Step 9: You will receive the User ID and Password on your email to log in to the SSP post the OTP validation. Once the registration on SSP is complete, you can log in to the SSP with the login credentials received on your email.
SSP Portal Registration Process for Existing Members
Use the below steps for registration on the SSP Portal if you are already registered with the ICAI and have an MRN number:
Step 1: Visit the official portal of the ICAI and click on the option “Self Service Portal” on the homepage.
Step 2: Click on the button – “Don’t Have a Login to SSP Yet? (Existing Student/Members).
Step 3: Choose the option “Member”.
Step 4: Fill in the details like 6-digit MRN or Member Registration Number and date of birth. Now click on the button “Validate”.
Step 5: Once you click the “Validate” button, a message will be sent to you asking for the updation of your communication details such as the mobile number and email.
Step 6: You need to click on the button – “Generate OTP” when you’ve entered your communication details.
Step 7: Next, fill in the CAPTCHA and click on the “Submit” button.
Step 8: Enter the OTP you received on your mobile number and email address. Now click the button “Validate OTP”.
Step 9: Once the mobile number and OTP is validated, you need to upload a declaration form.
Step 10: Go to the “Declaration” heading and click on “Generate Declaration Form” in Step 1. Then click on the “OK” button.
Step 11: Select the “Download Declaration Form” in Step 2 under the same heading.
Step 12: When it’s downloaded, take a printout. Scan the form once you have filled it.
Step 13: Go to the “Declaration” heading again and follow the step-by-step process (of 8 steps) mentioned above. Click on the “Upload Scanned Declaration Form” in Step 3 and upload the form.
Step 14: Now click on the option – “Upload PAN card/Voter ID” in Step 4. Upload the scanned copy of any of the two and click on the “Submit” button.
Step 15: You will be sent the User ID and password once the registration or application form is approved. Enter the credentials to log in to the portal and it’s done.
