How is stamp duty payable for E Stamping?

This is payable through cheque, cash, demand draft, pay order, NEFT, RTGS and account transfers. You may pay in cheque, cash or DD at ACs. You have to follow these steps in this regard:

• New SHCIL users may click Register Now.
• Fill up all necessary details. Choose your User ID, password, security question and then fill up the bank account information.
• Upon confirmation via activation link sent to the registered email address, you may use the User ID and password for accessing vital services.
• Login to the online module through the activated password and User ID.
• Choose the State from the drop-down and then choose Nearest SHCIL Branch as your option while giving mandatory information like First Party Name, Second Party Name, Stamp Duty Paid By, Stamp Duty Amount, Article No and others for generation of the Online Reference Acknowledgement No. for any payment amount via Net Banking/RTGS/Debit Card.
• Citizens have to carry their printouts for the Online Reference Acknowledgement Number and visit their nearest Stock Holding Branch for getting the final printout of the e-stamp certificate.

Verifying the E Stamp

You will get the option called Verify e stamp upon the homepage. Click on this for continuing and thereafter, just enter your state, certificate number, date of issuance, type of stamp duty and session ID before clicking Verify. Remember that duplicate copies are not issued for e stamps and you may get refunds for e stamp request upon cancellation, only when approaching the SHCIL office. Stamp duty may be paid online in Maharashtra through eSBTR (electronic secured bank treasury receipt), which is an online payment facility, and not via SHCIL.
