The New “Happening” City amongst the Techies

Hyderabad, being the country’s new and happening IT city, has also garnered attention towards the events and festivals that occur across the city year. The city’s people do not miss a single chance to celebrate talent in any possible way. The Goethe-Zentrum Hyderabad is organising a week-long event, ‘Fete de la musiques, along with partners, L&T metro station and L&T Premia Mall. During the said week, nearly 100 musicians will gather around several metro stations to celebrate World Music Day from June 21 to 26, ending with an all-evening concert at Premia Mall. The music will vary from Indian classical to pop music.

Along with the festivals and attractions like Ramoji Film City, Char Minar and Vizag nearby, the workforce of our IT industry in Hyderabad no longer hesitates to invest in a city which has grown at an incredible pace with the contemporary approach and is now home to some major MNCs. 

Schedule of the Event

For 39 years, the Fête de la Musique has brought together proponents and fans of many musical genres worldwide. It’s also known as World Music Day and honours a universal, unrestricted, and barrier-free love of music. This year, the celebrations will be grander and more musical as Alliance Alliance Française of Hyderabad is coming in collaboration with the Indian French Embassy (Ambassade de France en Inde), French Institute in India (Institute Français India), the Alliances Françaises in India and boxout. fm. This wholly digitalised radio project will bring a new level of enthusiasm to the youth in the city yet again. 

From June 7th to June 21st, 2021, a wide range of audio shows, including interviews, podcasts, curated playlists, and radio conversations, will be broadcasted live on boxout.fm and fetedelamusique.in. Some of the programmes will also be available on Facebook as live videos. 

Featured Playlist

The event’s curated playlist includes some famous locale, indie, classical and contemporary artists like Rounak Maiti, Spryk, Lush Lata, Shireen, Roychuu, Stalvart John, Kaleekarma, Nephra, Merak, and DJ Ishani who will be performing at the festival. Also, to add the special element of surprise and grandeur, every day till June 17th, there will be a feature curation of a new guest artist who will be entertaining the crowd with their talent.

Music for the Community

Any form of art is a binding force, whether for a community, state, or country. Music is one such art form which never fails to unite the common people, and the best way to reach out to every single human is the community radio. The community radio not only is heard by all classes of people but is also followed diligently by the major chunk of the population.

Hence, the thirteen Alliance Française Network regional outposts in India have decided to take the World Music Day 2022 to everyone by presenting a curated selection of music from distinct scenes. The selected music will be played from Monday, June 7th, 2022, to June 17th, 2022, from noon to 4 p.m. The Alliance Française Network also took the reins of boxout.fm to create yet another window into India’s diverse musical environment, ranging from classical to folk to indie rock.

Featuring Artists

The Heartbeats (Western Country/Rock band), including Peter Mario, Joshua Alphonso, Joachim Adams, Harini Rao (Hindustani vocalist), and Poornima Krishna Emani, are among the Community Radio performers presented by Alliance Française of Hyderabad (Carnatic Flautist).

Catch them and a slew of other Indian musicians preparing a musical feast for you.

The whole week doesn’t fill you with some of the best music but will also entertain you to the fullest with an Online Junk Percussion Jam/ Workshop on Zoom on June 24th and La Taal, an Indo-French live event on June 26th.

If music is your first and foremost love and you can’t spend a day without it, you must attend this amalgamation of French and Indie music.
