Who is Bringing Galeries Lafayette Home?
Well, if you assumed Reliance was introducing it to India, you are mistaken. Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited (ABFRL) is the company introducing Galeries Lafayette, a luxury retail and departmental store in India. Unexpectedly, Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail has a sizable worldwide brand inventory. The Collective, a division of Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail, is home to a few selective brands, including American Eagle, Simon Carter, Reebok, Forever 21, Ralph Lauren, and Ted Baker. Additionally, it has strategic alliances with Indian designers such as the House of Masaba, Tarun Tahiliani, Shantanu and Nikhil, and Sabyasachi.
To strengthen its presence in India, where the French company wants to establish two stores in 2024 and 2025, Galeries Lafayette recently decided and announced its cooperation with the Indian organisation ABFRL.
Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited is the first Indian fashion firm to surpass one billion dollars in profit, which oversees a network of 3,500 outlets, to accelerate its global deployment strategy. A specialised online shopping portal will be launched as part of the agreement, along with opening two storefronts in Mumbai and New Delhi.

Delhi
It is only fitting that Lafayette’s new outlet is situated in Delhi’s affluent retail district, DLF Emporio, as it is the one-stop destination for all things luxury. The iconic French departmental store will be sprawled across an astounding 65,000 square feet inside DLF Emporio, one of the biggest luxury malls in the nation. The store is anticipated to open in 2025 in the capital city.
Future of Galeries Lafayette
This collaboration demonstrates Galeries Lafayette’s ambition to hasten the opening of 20 outlets internationally by the year 2025, with a focus on the Middle East and Asia markets.
The luxury departmental store has 57 locations in France and 8 of which are franchised and already present in Dubai, Doha, Beijing, Shanghai, Berlin, Jakarta, and Luxembourg.
In 2023, three more stores are anticipated to open in China, increasing the total number of international outlets to ten, subject to openings in India.
