According to the reports, the Travancore royal family is trying to sell the Travancore Delhi House without the involvement of the Kerala Government. The royal family garnered attention as soon as they signed a contract with a real estate company. The contract is signed for property sale.
In addition, the royal family is making attempts to sell the property along with their few other properties in Bengaluru. As per the reports, the on-paper property price is worth INR 250 crore. After the central and state government’s approval, the contract will be in effect positively. It came to the notice after the state government plans to convert the Travancore Delhi house into a cultural centre.

Furthermore, in 1930 the construction of the Travancore royal family’s house was completed, and the union government took charge of the property for the Territorial Army’s accommodation. Later, the Kerala government took charge of the Travancore royal family’s Delhi house. Moreover, it is worth considering that the state government timely maintained the property.
In the current scenario, the royal family claims the government acquires the property’s right to ownership and possession rights. However, since 2019 both parties are claiming the right of ownership.
