UP RERA Gives Nine-Month Extension for the Completion of Housing Projects
The officials of RERA UP made a foremost move by offering a nine-month extension to builders to complete the registration of the projects whose original or extended registration will expire on or before 31st December 2021. This is done to make up for the delay that came in the project process because of the pandemic situation. Additionally, the state real estate authority didn’t want buyers to wait more to get their final home possession. This 9-month extension can be availed for the projects that are under construction within the NCR Area. In total there are almost 100 projects that fall in this extension category. For projects that belong from the outer region (outside NCR), UP RERA has announced an extension of six months.
UP RERA About to Organize National Lok Adalat on 10 July 2021
UP RERA has made an announcement that it will organize the National Lok Adalat on 10th July 2021 under the supervision of UP State Legal Services Authority. The sole reason for organizing it is to address the grievances of buyers. Considering the pandemic situation, the Authority decided to organize the Adalat through an online medium at the headquarters located in Lucknow together with the regional UP RERA office established in Greater Noida. The UP State Legal Services Authority will be taking care of everything to ensure a smooth process and execution. RERA officials appointed Anand Shukla (legal advisor) as the nodal officer to organize the Lok Adalat on 10th July 2021.
Developers/Builders Request for Time Extension to Complete the Ongoing Projects
Developers who were unable to meet the construction deadlines due to the pandemic requested UP RERA officials to offer an extension of 12 months to complete projects. This was done in compliance with orders issued by the RERA authority. The reason behind the delay was the second wave of the pandemic.
Lately, in a webinar, the chairman of Uttar Pradesh RERA shared concerns about the same. He added the developers had made multiple requests for the smooth completion and on-time delivery of projects.
President RK Arora, said: “The project developers have also urged RERA, to ask the state real estate authority to amend the ‘zero period’ order. They, additionally, demanded to remove the deadline of project completion by December 31st, 2021.”

UP RERA Approves Commercial Project Acquisition by Urbanac
The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) has authorised Urbanac Building Technologies for the acquisition of the commercial project in Noida.
Paritosh Goel, Managing Partner of Urbanac Building confirmed that the company is all set to invest ₹ 250 Crores in the development of one million Sq Ft of office and retail space extending across two towers.
According to UP RERA orders, the project ‘Bizlife’ was enrolled in the name of Popularity Infratech Pvt. Ltd. While, the construction of the project was initiated in July 2017 and was proposed to be done by 31 October 2023.
On November 8, 2021, Popularity Infratech Pvt. Ltd filed an application along with consent letters of 519 allottees out of the total 750 allottees in the project. The application was made to request the authority to allow it to transfer its maximum liabilities and rights in respect of this project to Urbana Building Technologies LLP.
The entire process of project acquisition is being carried out under the supervision of UP RERA experts. As a construction partner, Soltrain Building Technology Limited (SBTL) and Urbanac Building Technologies LLP as a promoter will develop the project together.
It took various rounds of meeting with promoters and buyers by UP RERA to be completely satisfied with all parameters of the project completion and rehabilitation and UP RERA finally allow the process of acquisition as per Section 15 of the Act.
