Vedanta Aluminium, the largest aluminium producer in India, has announced the appointment of Ravi Paliwal as the CEO of Ash Management. In his new role, Ravi will be responsible for overseeing the ash management operations of Vedanta Aluminium and the power businesses of Vedanta Limited, including Talwandi Sabo Power Plant, Meenakshi Energy, Athena Power, and Hindustan Zinc Limited.

With over 27 years of diverse experience in the industry, Ravi Paliwal brings extensive expertise to Vedanta Aluminium’s operations. His main focus will be leveraging technology and processes to enhance resource efficiency and explore new avenues for utilizing ash, which is a by-product of thermal power generation. This aligns with Vedanta Aluminium’s broader sustainability agenda, which aims to generate value from by-products while moving towards a 30% renewable energy mix by 2030.
Prior Experience and Industry Reputation
Before joining Vedanta Aluminium, Ravi Paliwal served as the Senior Vice President of Contract, Commercials, and Materials at Bajaj Energy. He has also held senior managerial positions at JSW Energy and Nabha Power Larsen & Toubro. His expertise lies in functions such as purchase, supply chain management, vendor development, and service contracts.
