On November 7th 2022, ICC announced the winners of ‘Player of the Month’ in both the male and female cricketing categories. The former Indian Cricket Captain and star player, Virat Kohli, was named the ‘ICC Men Player of the Month’ for October 2022. After his excellent performance during the T20 World Cup Semi-Final held in Australia, he was given the title.
Besides this, his remarkable performance after months made headlines and helped India climb the stairs on the performance table. Moreover, the veteran all-rounder player of Pakistan, Nida Dar, got the title of ‘ICC Women Player of the Month’ for October 2022 after her stellar performance in the campaign for Asia Cup.
Both the cricketing stars were declared the winner of the title after global voting conducted amongst the media representatives, former international cricket players, registered fans, and the ICC Hall of Fame.
Kohli showcased his batting after scoring 205 runs in the semi-finals and other matches. His powerful performance was breathtaking and made him win the title. Along with scoring a half-century against the Netherlands held in Sydney, the cricketer gave an unforgettable performance against Pakistan in the MCG stadium that kicked off India’s campaign in a new mode.
The Indian batting star secured the title after being nominated for the category for the first time beside Sikander Raza and David Miller.
