On 29th October 2022, the world witnessed its biggest milestone with unveiling the world’s first tallest statue of Lord Shiva. Rajasthan’s CM Ashok Gehlot performed the inauguration ceremony of the tallest Shiva statue, along with assembly speakers and others.
The tallest Shiva statue is situated almost 45 kms away from Udaipur. It can easily be sighted from 20 kms away. It is kept on 51 bighas in a meditation pose and gives the area a quick spark in night lighting.
When the world’s 1st tallest Shiva statue unfolded, the CM declared a 9-day festivity to accomplish their success. Morari Bapur, a famous preacher, was called in to recite Ram Katha during these 9-days till 6th November, which is still ongoing at the Vishwa Swaroopam (Statue of Belief).
The tallest statue of Lord Shiva took almost 10 years to get completed. There is a catch regarding its height. Earlier, it was decided at 251 feet, but it touched 351 feet during construction. And when it got complimented by the flowing Ganga overhead of Lord Shiva, the height finally reached 369 feet.

Some reports suggest that it can accommodate 1000 devotees at a time in their hall and has a lift and stairs. Approximately, three thousand tonnes of iron, steel, and 2.5 lakh cubic tonnes of concrete and sand have been used. The project’s foundation was laid in August 2012, and with everyone’s efforts, it was just finished in 2022.
This project will soon be open to the public after completing the 9-day Ram Katha. It is so strongly built that it will last for 250 years. And it is so sturdily built that it will withstand 250 km/hr wind speed.
This Statue will now be a great tourist attraction for people worldwide. And it will benefit the economy of Rajasthan and the people of Nathdwara a long way. The local artisans of Rajasthan have again left us mesmerised with their art and will continue to do so in the future. Rajasthan has always been people’s favourite because of its old history and forts. Now, the visitors will surely have an add-on in their itinerary when they visit Rajasthan.
