Bonhooghly is a sub-locality of Baranagar locality and is neighbour to the localities of – Alipore, Nimta, Alambazar Ghar, Dunlop colony, Belgharia expressway, Sinthi, and Dakshineshwar. The sub-locality is bordered up by Belghoria Expressway on one side, Dunlop Flyover on the other, and the Kestopur Khal Drain on the third side. The sub-locality is named after the Bonhooghly lake present in the region.
